  Tom is the most honest mechanic I have ever known. Our entire family with 4 vehicles always put our trust in him. My suburban failed the emissions test for an electrical problem. It could have been a costly repair (or made into one) but Tom found the "fuse" replaced - no charge and had me back at the teting station the same morning!   Ok, so I couldn't believe any repair shop could have consistantly the highest rating. But I have to say that I too, am adding a "5" rating to Action Auto Repair. I needed a new transmission, and was not going to have it done. I spent a month looking for a new vehicle, and decided mine was better then anything out there. So I found Action Auto after doing some research. Tom is amazing. He went way above and beyond for me to make sure my truck was fixed perfect. All without any extra charge. I can't say enough about him and his employees. You STILL can find an honest mechanic. At least one. Thank you Tom!!! I wish I could give you a 10.

  We took our truck to Action Auto on Sunday, and dropped the key in their "Early Bird" drop box. The check engine light turned on and the truck went kaput. Tom from Action called early Monday morning and told us what the problem was a transmission solenoid. They did the repair along with a oil change as requested. The truck runs great as if it was brand new. Thanks to Action we're back up and running in less than one day. We have also brought our other vehicles to Action Auto as well. We highly recommend their service. They wont steer you wrong.

I spoke with Tom who not only explained to me what the problem was, but he also drew a chart, give me a quick course in auto 101 and showed me exactly what the problems were. He was very honest and forthright and rather than charge me an excessive amount of money for work that might not work, he offered fair and reasonable alternatives. Action Auto will forever be my auto mechanics.

Action Auto looked over the car, and discovered the computer had not been reconnected, and the rt front strut had not been properly secured. In a short period of time, it was repaired, at a reasonable cost. I used to go to Action Auto, but became dissatified with their service. This was several yrs and a couple of owners ago. I was given a good price, they were honest on how much the price of the hose that I needed and how much the labor would be. I told them I would pick up my vehicle the next day and it was ready. I really like this shop and its people.

  We're very pleased with all aspects of doing business with Action Auto Repair. They were recommended to us by Brian at Just Brakes and Alignment and we are greatful to him for his referral. These past few years we have taken all three of our vehicles to Action Auto for various repairs, tune-ups and care. We have never been disappointed. The latest service was to repair our air conditioning in our Yukon. We had it worked on a couple years ago at another shop and that was just one big disaster and disappointment. We're always pleased with their services which are handled in a professional and courteous manner always displaying honesty, efficiency, knowledge and willingness to help us understand the problem.   I went to Action Auto years ago and their service has always been exceptional. I forgot about them until we bought a Volvo from a private party with a whole lot of hidden things wrong with it and didn't know where to get the work done. It needed a new turbo, exhaust system and head gasket to name a few. After fixing one thing another went wrong. They stuck with it until every last issue was resolved and charged us a reasonable price on everything. They have been in business for many years and have always done exceptional work at decent prices. My wife and I drive new cars, but when something goes wrong or we need service; we will take them to Action Auto!

When Tom called me, said the oil filter was loose and suggested an oil change. $41.00 and I was expecting it to be way up there. They could have ripped me off like so many other car repair places - but they didn't. They just got a customer for life!!

  We have this one and several other cars and have taken all of them to this mechanic, He is great and in all cases has given us a fair price and clear information on what actually needed to be done. In this case our Beetle had overheated a couple times, but in general had symptoms of needing fan repair or replacement. Sure enough that is what it needed and it has been running great since the repair. He also let us know that the car had been in an accident (we knew this) but it was nice of him to point it out.

  I have a 1991 Chevy Caprice Station Wagon that did not pass the emissions test because it was running too rich and emitting too much carbon monoxide. I was recommended by Maricopa County to take it to Action Auto Repair. This was my first time taking my car to Tom and his Team of experts. While every two years before, I failed the emissions on the Catalytic Converter and had to always replace it with a new one. Two years ago I replaced it with the Midas converter. When I took it there this time I was told that the "catalytic converter was replaced not too long ago" and that it was OK. They said that the EGR Valve and a Tuneup would resolve the CO problem. Their estimate for the work was over $950.00. When I took it to Action Auto Repair, they checked the entire car over and I was told that the Catalytic Converter was not working properly. I asked that they give my my car the complete checkup to see if there were any other problems. The results were that by changing the catalytic converter and a new fule filter, the car passed the emissions test and nothing else was needed. This was GREAT because my "Old Faithful" has over 222,0057 miles on it and it runs better then ever. Thanks to Tom and his Team of excellent mechanics, I now have a place I can take my car to in the future and know hat it will be repaired correctly and without any unecessary repair bills. It is extremely hard today to find an excellent mechanic that knows what they are doing and doesn't "take you to the cleaners" with unecessary repair bills. Thanks again for taking good care of ME and my 1991 Chevy Station Wagon. We will be back to see you in the future. Leo J.

  I was referred by a coworker to try Action Auto 2 years ago. At the time, I had bought a used car and just had a dealership shop mechanic tell me that my car needed about $1000 worth of replacements and repairs, including new belts. Then, I took it to Action Auto and after they looked at it, they said that the previous owners had maintained it well and nothing was needed other than an oil change. Tom and his mechanics at Action Auto honestly told me that the belts appeared to be newly replaced within the past year. They did not try to sell me things that I I didn't need. I've been taking my vehicles there ever since. They are honest, very thorough, and easy on the wallet!

Everything pointed to this major repair but Tom spent the entire day getting to the bottom of the problem to make sure that's what it was, and it wasn't. It was actually a new part that we had just installed that was not working properly. Any other shop would definitely not have taken the time to find out what was really wrong with our car. Tom advised that my antifreeze was broken down and needed replacing. A process, electrolysis was taking place that could do major damage to the entire cooling system including the radiator and heater core... I had them replace the antifreeze. The truck actually runs cooler. Thanks for your expertise and genuine concern.

Tom treated every customer fairly, never taking advantage of the program or customers, quickly and effectively resolving any concerns.   I have a couple of vehicles which I have had Tom work on over the last 5 years. The analysis of the problem has always been correct, and the work has always been done promptly and correctly, and at a fair price. I've also had a couple of occaisions where I've brought a vehicle in because I thought I had a problem, and they checked it out and there actually was not a problem, so no charge. I've always felt its a good sign when a shop is willing to tell you there isn't a problem, and not try to charge you for something unnecessary.

I personally have nothing but good to say about their service, quality, and fairness. The referrals which I have made have all good words about their experiences also. Action Auto was actually referred to me by another regular, satisfied customer. It is hard to find an honest mechanic in Phoenix but it would be even harder to find an honest mechanic that is more honest and fair than Action Auto.

  I have been going to Tom and the guys at Action Auto since I was sixteen. My family has used him for years. I know next to nothing about cars so its a challenge for me to describe issues to them. They are really good about it and don't overcharge me. I recently took them to their shop after I had been in an accident (my insurance company had someone else do the repairs) Tom found some things they missed and helped me to get them fixed. I feel safe when I take my car to him or any of the guys there and that means more to me than anything else

  I have had several cars over the last few years that I have entrusted to Tom at Action Auto. Without exception, he has been honest with me, done the work correctly the first time and charged me a fair price. Occasionally, I would think I have a big problem and Tom makes a minor repair or adjustment to fix it. Recently, my son went to a different shop. What a mistake! They caused over $500 in damages due to their negligence that Tom ended up correcting for us. I can't say enough about Action Auto and Tom O'Kane. I trust him with my cars.

  Highly skilled mechanics who actually do all the maintenance on your vehicle as required. They use top quality parts and service. They are priced much less than dealers, but are certified to do all repairs. I would never go to a dealer first without going here first.   The shop has been very dependable when leaving my vehicle for any work that needs to be done, and accomadating to offer a ride to work early in the mornings and even picking me up when the vehicle is finished. The shop makes no haste in diagnostics of the vehicle to inform me what needs to be repaired, and I know that the quality replacement parts are used in the repair and my car will be repaired quickly. I will continue to take my vehicles to this shop and am happy to refer my friends and family to Action Auto.

  We have a fleet of 50+ trucks and cars. We started bringing our fleet to Action Auto about a year ago. We are very pleased with the quality of work we receive on our fleet vehicles. We had an account with a "big name" chain repair shop, but found they lacked the customer service and quality of work that Action Auto is able to provide. I know when we bring them one of our vehicles, they will give us a honest assesment of the problem and give us a fair price. I've even brought my personal vehicle in for service with them.
